Charger Alerts

  1. Identify the Alert Indicators
    1. Identify which alert indicators (lights) are red.
  2. Check AC1 power
    1. Check to see AC 1 light is green.
      1. Yes. Go to Step 3.
      2. No.
        1. Make sure AC 1 power cord connected into AC 1 IN outlet on Basement Defender device.
        2. Make sure the wall outlet, where AC 1 is plugged into, has power.
          1. If there is no power in the wall outlet, check the breaker.
  3. Check AC2 power
    1. Check to see AC 2 light is green.
      1. Yes. Go to Step 4.
      2. No.
        1. Make sure AC 2 power cord is connected into AC 2 IN outlet on Basement Defender device.
        2. Make sure the wall outlet, where AC 2 is plugged into, has power.
          1. If there is no power in the wall outlet, check the breaker.
  4. SERVICE ALERT - Service Indicator is Red
    1. Open BD Dealer App.
    2. Type in Device Number, and connect to web portal.
    3. Login to web portal. If you do not have login info, then call in to have someone log on the portal and select the device.
    4. Under Device Status, identify which alert(s) are occurring.
      1. Charger Faults - See CHARGER ALERTS below.
      2. Battery Faults - See BATTERY ALERTS
      3. Pump Faults - See PUMP ALERTS
      4. Temperature / Humidity Alerts - See TEMP/HUMIDITY ALERTS
      5. Wi-Fi Alerts - See WIFI ALERTS
      6. High Water Sensor Active
        1. Make sure the High Water puck is not sitting in water.
        2. Make sure the 2077-205 Temp/Humidity Connector is connected into the outlet on the Basement Defender.
        3. Make sure the water sensor connector is connected with the High Water puck connector.
        4. Verify Temp/Humidity readings are good.
        5. If High Water Sensor is still active, replace with a new one.
      7. AC 1 Power Off
        1. Make sure AC 1 power is connected to AC 1 IN outlet on the Basement Defender.
        2. Check to see if the customer's house is out of power.
        3. Check to see if a breaker was tripped.
      8. AC 2 Power Off
        1. Make sure AC 2 power is connected to AC 2 IN outlet on the Basement Defender.
        2. Check to see if the customer's house is out of power.
        3. Check to see if a breaker was tripped.
  5. CHARGER ALERT - Battery Indicator is Red
    1. Identify which Charger Fault(s) on web portal.
      1. Charger 1 Fault
        1. Verify AC1 power is on.
        2. Make sure Charger harness 2077-206 is connected to Charger 1 connector on the 2077-207 harness
        3. Make sure Charger harness 2077-206 is connected to red & black connector
        4. Make sure Basement Defender Charger power cord is connected to Charger 1 outlet located on the Basement Defender
        5. Make sure lights are showing on the Basement Defender charger.
        6. If no lights are displaying on the charger, then:
          1. Check Charger outlet AC power on basement defender with AC detector or Plug the Chargers power cord into a functioning AC wall outlet to test charger.
          2. If basement defender charger outlet has power, then check charger.
          3. If no power, then the Basement Defender Charger is not functioning properly and should be replaced.
        7. Disconnect the BATTERY connector from the BATTERY 1 connector on the backup harness
        8. WAIT 30 SECONDS (If you reconnect the plug to fast then it will not work)
        9. Reconnect BATTERY connector to the BATTERY 1 connector on the backup harness
        10. Wait 20 seconds and the battery light should turn green
        11. If the charger fault is still showing, it is possible the battery has been drained too low and the charger is not able to bring the battery voltage up at the proper rate
      2. Charger 2 Fault
        1. Verify AC1 power is on.
        2. Make sure Charger harness 2077-206 is connected to red & black connector
        3. Make Sure Charger harness 2077-206 is connected to Charger 2 connector on the 2077-204 harness
        4. Make sure Basement Defender Charger power cord is connected to Charger 2 outlet located on the basement Defender
        5. Make sure lights are showing on the Basement Defender charger.
        6. If no lights are displaying on the charger, then:
          1. Check Charger outlet AC power on basement defender with AC detector or Plug the Chargers power cord into a functioning AC wall outlet to test charger.
          2. If basement defender charger outlet has power, then check charger.
          3. If no power, then the Basement Defender Charger is not functioning properly and should be replaced.
