Battery Alerts

Basement Defender 2.0 Units

  1. Check AC power
    1. Check to see if the light circle is lit up.
      1. If Yes, press the test button on your phone or on the unit to see if the alert will clear.
      2. If No,
        1. Make sure the AC power cord is connected into the AC power outlet on the Basement Defender device.
        2. Make sure the wall outlet, where AC 1 is plugged into, has power.
          1. If there is no power in the wall outlet, check the breaker.
  2. BATTERY/CHARGER ALERT - ALERT Light Red - App shows Battery Icon Red with a Fault/OFF
    1. No Battery Installed, Connected
      1. Make sure the harness is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender.
      2. Make sure Battery Harness is connected to the connector labeled ‘Battery’
      3. Make sure the battery is connected to Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
      4. Still "No Battery Installed" alert, contact your dealer for service.
    2. Low Battery - Battery is below 10 volts
      1. Make sure the cable is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender unit.
      2. Make sure Battery cable from the Basement Defender unit is connected to the Battery terminals Red to Red and Black to Black.
      3. Make sure the cable from the charger is connected to the battery with the Device battery cable connected. Red wires connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wires connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
      4. Still "No Battery Installed or fault" alert, contact your dealer for service.
    3. Battery Low - red power light is out on the charger
      1. Unplug the charger from the Basement Defender unit from the top left side labeled "CHARGER"
      2. Wait a minimum of 5 minutes.
      3. Re-Connect the charger to the same location
      4. If the light turns red, then the charger has rebooted and is fine.
      5. If it does not light up, contact your dealer for service.

Basement Defender 1.0 and 1.5 Units

  1. Check AC power
    1. Check to see if the AC Power light is green.
      1. Yes. Go to Step 3.
      2. No.
        1. Make sure the AC power cord is connected into the AC power outlet on the Basement Defender device.
        2. Make sure the wall outlet, where AC 1 is plugged into, has power.
          1. If there is no power in the wall outlet, check the breaker.
  2. BATTERY/CHARGER ALERT - Battery Indicator is Red
    1. Identify which Battery or Charger alert on the web portal or the app.
      1. No Battery Installed, Connected
        1. Make sure the harness is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender.
        2. Make sure Battery Harness is connected to the connector labeled ‘Battery’
        3. Make sure the battery is connected to Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
        4. Still "No Battery Installed" alert, contact your dealer for service.
      2. Low Battery
        1. Battery is below 10 volts.
          1. Has the backup pump been running and using the battery?
          2. Be sure the connections on the battery terminals are tight and without corrosion.
          3. If you have not lost power your battery or charger could be defective.
          4. Make sure Battery Harness is connected to the connector labeled ‘Battery 1’
          5. Make sure the battery is connected to Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
          6. Make sure Charger harness is connected to red & black connector
          7. Make sure Charger harness 22077-206 is connected to Charger 1 connector on the 2077-207 harness
          8. Make sure Basement Defender Charger power cord is connected to Charger 1 outlet located on the Basement Defender
          9. Make sure the red light is "on" on the Basement Defender charger.
