Battery Alerts

  1. Identify the Alert Indicators
    1. Identify which alert indicators (lights) are red.
  2. Check AC1 power
    1. Check to see AC 1 light is green.
      1. Yes. Go to Step 3.
      2. No.
        1. Make sure AC 1 power cord connected into AC 1 IN outlet on Basement Defender device.
        2. Make sure the wall outlet, where AC 1 is plugged into, has power.
          1. If there is no power in the wall outlet, check the breaker.
  3. Check AC2 power
    1. Check to see AC 2 light is green.
      1. Yes. Go to Step 4.
      2. No.
        1. Make sure AC 2 power cord is connected into AC 2 IN outlet on Basement Defender device.
        2. Make sure the wall outlet, where AC 2 is plugged into, has power.
          1. If there is no power in the wall outlet, check the breaker.
  4. SERVICE ALERT - Service Indicator is Red
    1. Open BD Dealer App.
    2. Type in Device Number, and connect to web portal.
    3. Login to web portal. If you do not have login info, then call in to have someone log on the portal and select the device.
    4. Under Device Status, identify which alert(s) are occurring.
      1. Battery Faults - See BATTERY/CHARGER ALERTS below.
      2. Charger Faults - See CHARGER ALERTS
      3. Pump Faults - See PUMP ALERTS
      4. Temperature / Humidity Alerts - See TEMP/HUMIDITY ALERTS
      5. Wi-Fi Alerts - See WIFI ALERTS
      6. High Water Sensor Active
        1. Make sure the High Water puck is not sitting in water.
        2. Make sure the 2077-205 Temp/Humidity Connector is connected into the outlet on the Basement Defender.
        3. Make sure the water sensor connector is connected with the High Water puck connector.
        4. Verify Temp/Humidity readings are good.
        5. If High Water Sensor is still active, replace with a new one.
      7. AC 1 Power Off
        1. Make sure AC 1 power is connected to AC 1 IN outlet on the Basement Defender.
        2. Check to see if the customer's house is out of power.
        3. Check to see if a breaker was tripped.
      8. AC 2 Power Off
        1. Make sure AC 2 power is connected to AC 2 IN outlet on the Basement Defender.
        2. Check to see if the customer's house is out of power.
        3. Check to see if a breaker was tripped.
  5. BATTERY/CHARGER ALERT - Battery Indicator is Red
    1. Identify which Battery or Charger Fault(s) on web portal.
      1. No Battery Learned
        1. Should this customer have a Basement Defender Battery Backup?
          1. No! Battery Indicator and Service Indicator will stay Red.
          2. Yes! Follow steps below.
            1. Make sure 2077-207 harness is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender.
            2. Make sure 2077-209 Battery Harness is connected to the connector labeled ‘Battery 1’
            3. Make sure the battery is connected to 2077-209 Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
          3. Still No battery Learned, check battery voltage above 6 volts.
      2. Battery 1 Not Connected
        1. Should this customer have a Basement Defender Battery Backup?
          1. No!
            1. Make sure 2077-207 backup harness is unplugged from basement defender and no charger is plugged in to basement defender. Hold shield logo until you hear a beep. Manually lift floats for each pump you installed.
              Note: Battery Indicator and Service Indicator will stay Red.
          2. Yes!
            1. Make sure 2077-207 harness is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender.
            2. Make sure 2077-209 Battery Harness is connected to the connector labeled ‘Battery 1’
            3. Make sure the battery is connected to 2077-209 Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
          3. Still Battery 1 Not Connected, check battery voltage above 6 volts.
      3. Battery 2 Not Connected
        1. Should this customer have a 2nd Basement Defender Battery Backup?
          1. No!
            1. Make sure all battery 2 connectors are unplugged. Hold shield logo until you hear a beep. Manually lift floats for each pump you installed.
          2. Yes! Follow steps below.
            1. Make sure 2077-204 harness is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender.
            2. Make sure 2077-209 Battery Harness is connected to Battery 2 connector.
            3. Make sure the battery is connected to 2077-209 Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
          3. Still Battery 2 Not Connected, check battery 2 voltage above 6 volts.
      4. Backup Battery 1 Low
        1. Measure Battery. Is Battery below 10 volts?
          1. Yes
            1. Has the backup pump been running and using battery. Normal.
            2. Are the charger lights on and Charging. Normal
          2. No.
            1. Make sure 2077-207 harness is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender.
            2. Make sure 2077-209 Battery Harness is connected to the connector labeled ‘Battery 1’
            3. Make sure the battery is connected to 2077-209 Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
            4. Make sure Charger harness 2077-206 is connected to red & black connector
            5. Make sure Charger harness 22077-206 is connected to Charger 1 connector on the 2077-207 harness
            6. Make sure Basement Defender Charger power cord is connected to Charger 1 outlet located on the Basement Defender
            7. Make sure lights are showing on the Basement Defender charger.
      5. Backup Battery 2 Low
        1. Measure Battery. Is Battery 2 below 10 volts?
          1. Yes
            1. Has the backup pump been running and using battery. Normal.
            2. Is the charger lights on and Charging. Normal
          2. No.
            1. Make sure 2077-204 harness is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender.
            2. Make sure 2077-209 Battery Harness is connected to Battery 2 connector
            3. Make sure the battery is connected to 2077-209 Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
            4. Make sure Charger harness 2077-206 is connected to red & black connector
            5. Make sure Charger harness 22077-206 is connected to Charger 1 connector on the 2077-204 harness
            6. Make sure Basement Defender Charger power cord is connected to Charger 2 outlet located on the Basement Defender
            7. Make sure lights are showing on the Basement Defender charger.
