Battery Alerts
- Identify the Alert Indicators
- Identify which alert indicators (lights) are red.
- Check AC1 power
- Check to see AC 1 light is green.
- Yes. Go to Step 3.
- No.
- Make sure AC 1 power cord connected into AC 1 IN outlet on Basement Defender device.
- Make sure the wall outlet, where AC 1 is plugged into, has power.
- If there is no power in the wall outlet, check the breaker.
- Check to see AC 1 light is green.
- Check AC2 power
- Check to see AC 2 light is green.
- Yes. Go to Step 4.
- No.
- Make sure AC 2 power cord is connected into AC 2 IN outlet on Basement Defender device.
- Make sure the wall outlet, where AC 2 is plugged into, has power.
- If there is no power in the wall outlet, check the breaker.
- Check to see AC 2 light is green.
- SERVICE ALERT - Service Indicator is Red
- Open BD Dealer App.
- Type in Device Number, and connect to web portal.
- Login to web portal. If you do not have login info, then call in to have someone log on the portal and select the device.
- Under Device Status, identify which alert(s) are occurring.
- Battery Faults - See BATTERY/CHARGER ALERTS below.
- Charger Faults - See CHARGER ALERTS
- Pump Faults - See PUMP ALERTS
- Temperature / Humidity Alerts - See TEMP/HUMIDITY ALERTS
- Wi-Fi Alerts - See WIFI ALERTS
- High Water Sensor Active
- Make sure the High Water puck is not sitting in water.
- Make sure the 2077-205 Temp/Humidity Connector is connected into the outlet on the Basement Defender.
- Make sure the water sensor connector is connected with the High Water puck connector.
- Verify Temp/Humidity readings are good.
- If High Water Sensor is still active, replace with a new one.
- AC 1 Power Off
- Make sure AC 1 power is connected to AC 1 IN outlet on the Basement Defender.
- Check to see if the customer's house is out of power.
- Check to see if a breaker was tripped.
- AC 2 Power Off
- Make sure AC 2 power is connected to AC 2 IN outlet on the Basement Defender.
- Check to see if the customer's house is out of power.
- Check to see if a breaker was tripped.
- BATTERY/CHARGER ALERT - Battery Indicator is Red
- Identify which Battery or Charger Fault(s) on web portal.
- No Battery Learned
- Should this customer have a Basement Defender Battery Backup?
- No! Battery Indicator and Service Indicator will stay Red.
- Yes! Follow steps below.
- Make sure 2077-207 harness is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender.
- Make sure 2077-209 Battery Harness is connected to the connector labeled ‘Battery 1’
- Make sure the battery is connected to 2077-209 Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
- Still No battery Learned, check battery voltage above 6 volts.
- Should this customer have a Basement Defender Battery Backup?
- Battery 1 Not Connected
- Should this customer have a Basement Defender Battery Backup?
- No!
- Make sure 2077-207 backup harness is unplugged from basement defender and no charger is plugged in to basement defender. Hold shield logo until you hear a beep. Manually lift floats for each pump you installed.
Note: Battery Indicator and Service Indicator will stay Red.

- Should this customer have a 2nd Basement Defender Battery Backup?
- No!

- Make sure 2077-209 Battery Harness is connected to Battery 2 connector.
- Make sure the battery is connected to 2077-209 Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
- Still Battery 2 Not Connected, check battery 2 voltage above 6 volts.
- No!
- Should this customer have a 2nd Basement Defender Battery Backup?
- Backup Battery 1 Low
- Measure Battery. Is Battery below 10 volts?
- Yes
- Has the backup pump been running and using battery. Normal.
- Are the charger lights on and Charging. Normal
- No.
- Make sure 2077-207 harness is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender.
- Make sure 2077-209 Battery Harness is connected to the connector labeled ‘Battery 1’
- Make sure the battery is connected to 2077-209 Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
- Make sure Charger harness 2077-206 is connected to red & black connector
- Make sure Charger harness 22077-206 is connected to Charger 1 connector on the 2077-207 harness
- Make sure Basement Defender Charger power cord is connected to Charger 1 outlet located on the Basement Defender
- Make sure lights are showing on the Basement Defender charger.
- Yes
- Measure Battery. Is Battery below 10 volts?
- Backup Battery 2 Low
- Measure Battery. Is Battery 2 below 10 volts?
- Yes
- Has the backup pump been running and using battery. Normal.
- Is the charger lights on and Charging. Normal
- No.
- Make sure 2077-204 harness is connected to the BACKUP outlet on the Basement Defender.
- Make sure 2077-209 Battery Harness is connected to Battery 2 connector
- Make sure the battery is connected to 2077-209 Battery Harness. Red wire connected to positive (+) battery terminal, black wire connected to negative (-) battery terminal.
- Make sure Charger harness 2077-206 is connected to red & black connector
- Make sure Charger harness 22077-206 is connected to Charger 1 connector on the 2077-204 harness
- Make sure Basement Defender Charger power cord is connected to Charger 2 outlet located on the Basement Defender
- Make sure lights are showing on the Basement Defender charger.
- Yes
- Measure Battery. Is Battery 2 below 10 volts?
- No Battery Learned
- Identify which Battery or Charger Fault(s) on web portal.
